This easter was far from easter for me, I did not pay any attention to it at all, no easter eggs, no celebrations nothing - But I don’t mind at all.
On Friday my fella was supposed to be working, but when we dropped him off no one had opened up, an hour later 15 people got sent home, or to Morrisons from breakfast as it happened.
Following this I finally purchased Mass Effect for Xbox 360 and promptly spent the next 2 days completely engrossed. I’ve now gotten further than a friend that has had it weeks (though he is not much of a gamer and can barely use a controller).
What’s interesting is he seems to have spent more time reading about it than playing,he knows every single cheat and hack in the game it seems - Me I just play and explore it for myself.
To put things in perspective as to how far I’ve gone, he is a level 26 character and I am a level 40.
The next few days I finally did long overdue invoicing (only to discover this morning that they went out in dollars), arranged dinner with a client, watched a previously unseen manga (Dual Dimension or something) which was not bad and watched some Battlestar Galactica with my fella.
I did get out to see my mum and sister, though I hardly saw my mum and she left quickly with her new boyfriend.
Now im back at work, i’ll be in London later having dinner ina vegetarian restaurant with a client and then going home to bed, what fun!
I’ve been reading the BBC forums, not a single good comment about the new budget. Im not really an expert on the subject and despite being unable to buy a house, All the people complaigning have combined salarys of £22,000, my combined salary is over £40,000 so I guess im not so hard hit by all the price increases.
It’s a hard subject for me to comment on everything is getting more expensive, but I don’t feel as a nation we are not well off.
The only thing I would have liked to have seen would be an answer to the house prices! Bring them back down to 4 times salary! Reduce public transport costs and do something more sensible to reduce carbon emissions like imposing a 50 mph speed limit on the motorway, imposing energy saving light bulbs and banning plastic wrappers on cucumbers!
Oh and what’s this all about charging for plastic bags and then giving the money to charity!
While on holiday in Weymouth we went to the highly recommended Crab House Cafe, serving fresh seafood they caught that day! It was a lovely cafe, nice décor all looked great until this chef started cooking. We’ve all watched Kitchen Nightmares where Gordon shows up people pretending to be excellent chefs, well this chef was one of them. All the food was ruined by crap piled on the plate, bad sauces and by baking every single thing, although the chips were nice!
I can’t say I would recommend the Crab House to anyone, except the producers of Kitchen Nightmares, the place could be a great Loves Fish Restaurant, especially with seafood so fresh.
